What’s beautiful for you?
Yesterday I had a beautiful day! Firstly, I woke up and I see waking up as something pretty divine - just saying! Then, after a morning of work, my daughter and I went out and met up with a friend of ours for lunch. We ate, chatted, laughed, solved problems, planned the future and openly shared our joy together for a couple of hours, thoroughly enjoying each other’s company and beauty.
I say beauty and I mean it! Here we were the three of us, all gorgeous women - decades separating each of us and yet there was really no time difference at all. I quietly revelled in it and thoroughly enjoyed observing and participating in the shared moments of unity. Moments like these are beautiful, joyful, special, and to be treasured and appreciated.
On the way home we stopped at a supermarket to get milk and a few other items and as I walked into the store, these beautiful red tulips pictured above, caught my eye sitting in a bucket on the floor. They were calling out to me to take them home - and so I did. Lucky they were tulips and not a stray litter of kittens - just saying ;)… When I got home I popped them into a vase on my kitchen bench and voilà! Beauty again! And instant joy! It was so uplifting to see them there and every time I walk into the kitchen I smile at the ‘sunshine’ they have brought with them. Today it is raining and grisly outside, but inside my kitchen, it is shining!
Beauty uplifts everything.
Do you know the saying “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”? A more literal way of saying this is “beauty is whatever one chooses to acknowledge as beautiful”. Same, but different.
So for me, yesterday was a beautiful day… my waking up was beautiful, my lunch dates were beautiful, and so was walking into my kitchen and seeing these beautiful red tulips… and so are YOU!
I invite you to stop what you are doing and have a look around you - like an observational scientist - no judgment - just observing - and see what you can find that’s beautiful for you - wherever you are, right now. Appreciate what you notice and appreciate that you are choosing to place awareness on beauty and enjoy a mindful moment for yourself, and appreciate YOU.
I’d love to hear in the comments below what you find, see and notice and thank you Beautiful for being here. I appreciate it.
I hope you have a beautiful day! xx Gina
