Celebrating Your Brand of Beautiful!

Reminders that we are each on our own journey can often be timely and relevant, even synchronistic! Comparisons in today’s competitive world can, at times, be overwhelming and fraught with unnecessary tensions. Learning not to yield to and/or to avoid such mitigating ‘un-ideals’, takes awareness and strategies, and yet, learning to create new ideals can take some mighty persuasion. Once in place and operating however, the results help you connect - whenever you choose to - with your brand of beautiful, which in turn helps you to feel really good about who you are. Win-win!

Which is why this week’s BLOG is about being aware, developing knowledge and remembering to celebrate your brand of beautiful.

We each have our very own brand of beautiful and ‘seeing’ it within ourselves boosts us up and enables us to pay it forward, and if you are like me, it’s an added boost when you hear it back from others also! ;) Of course your brand of beautiful is connected to everyone's brand of beautiful. When you can see it in yourself, you can also see it others. Win-win again!

I believe we are all collectively connected. I know we are each unique and individual - on the inside and the outside - and that we are each on our own journey through our connected lives. You probably know this too!

In saying that, however, our journey is just that. Others’ journeys are just that too. That’s the point! Imagine how boring it would be if we were all exactly the same. Imagine if we all sounded the same - we know it takes more than one voice to make a choir and it is in the combination of each voices’ uniqueness that enables a collective richness of sounds that make up any good choir - not to mention the skills of choir directors ;)

So… What do I recommend you need to feel more beautiful?

Firstly, a great place to kick off from, is being aware and developing knowledge around what your brand of beautiful is, and from there, growing it!

So, let’s start with the following task adapted from Arielle Ford’s work that came my way earlier this week…

On a piece of paper, write a list of your top 10 most loveable characteristics.

Begin with the phrase

I am who I am and who I am is…

Then list your top 10 most loveable characteristics…

eg. I am bold

I am courageous

I am hilarious

I am wildly beautiful

I am creative… and so on…

I am…

I am…

I am…

I am…

I am…

End your list with

I am loved

I am loveable

I am LOVE.

Now you have your list - read it over and sit with how you feel about it.

Then ask yourself…

What can I do today to best support my 10 most loveable characteristics? To feel beautiful? To feel nourished? To feel loved?

Then listen to your answers and take action!

Take great care of your self and have a beautiful day as your most beautiful self.
